Internal retaining ring<\/h3>\n

Internal retaining rings or circlip, are compressed into the inside of a housing or a bore for a secure fit. The assembly of this type of retaining part is axially. External Rings fit into the groove of a shaft. The portion of the ring that protrudes from the groove holds the assembly in place. E-type<\/h3>\n

A specific type of retaining ring, is named for its rounded “E” shape. E-Clip fasteners require a slotted shaft to hold items in place, such as bearings. This type of ring is fixed radially on a groove from a shaft. These retaining rings are easy to install and remove. They are circular grain, have no burrs and are created with a uniform cross-section, so they do not interfere with mating components or inhibit assembly processes. Also called push-on, could be external or internal retaining rings. This ring features a curved outer rim with a series of prongs protruding into the center for external applications or protruding outward for internal.
